This year we have been working to achieve the Food for Life Bronze award. This award covers Food Technology in school as well as monitoring our school meals provision and our links within the local community through cooking and gardening.
We have a school Food Group who meet each month to discuss our progress towards the award. Our Food Group members are:
- the school’s Head Chef from each campus,
- one Midday Supervisor from each campus,
- our School Business Manager,
- one class teacher from each campus
- School Council pupils from Year 2 up to Year 6.
Updates from meetings are shared in Key Stage assemblies at both campuses each term as well as on our school Twitter account.

Our Food Group is visited Stonebridge City Farm to look at the processes our food goes through before arriving on our plates. See what we got up to here: Stonebridge City Farm
We are also lucky to have a community gardener working across our school campuses. She works with individual children and small groups to maintain our flower beds and ensuring our crops for our school dinners are growing successfully in time for the Summer.
