Admission Arrangements

Admission for September 2019

As with all maintained schools the Local Authority at Nottingham City Council manages all admissions to Heathfield. However, as part of the school’s expansion, from October 2015 Heathfield is now based on two  campuses: Scotland Road and Kersall Drive, which are approximately 1 mile apart.

Once the LA has allocated a school place at Heathfield Primary, the Governing Body will determine which pupils will attend which site: either the Scotland Road Campus, or the Kersall Drive Campus.

Decisions will be based on:

  • Whether the pupil has a sibling already attending one of the existing sites

  • The distance from home (in a straight line as the crow flies) from home to each site (all admissions)
  • Which site there is space available in the allocated year group (in-year admissions)

Parents/Carers have a right to appeal the school’s decision regarding which campus the place is being offered. Each case is considered by the school’s own Admissions Appeals Panel on an individual basis. The decision of this panel is final and there is no further right of appeal.

The school’s admission number is now 100 places with effect from September 2015, for F2 (Reception) pupils. Therefore, 40 places will be on offer at the Scotland Road Campus and 60 places at the Kersall Drive Campus.

You will be able to apply online for a school place from 16 November 2018 via the Nottingham City Council website.

If your child lives in Nottingham city and is due to start reception year (Foundation 2) in September 2019, or they are currently in year 2 at an infant school and will be transferring to junior school in September 2019 you will be able to apply online for a school place from 16 November 2018.  The closing date for applications is 15 January 2019.

For children due to start in reception year (i.e. born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015), if you have already registered your child’s details with Nottingham City, an application pack with more details will be sent to you on 16 November 2018.

If you have not yet registered your child’s details with Nottingham City council you can still do so by clicking here.

For children due to transfer from infant to junior school (i.e. born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012), if your child lives in Nottingham City but attends a Nottinghamshire County infant school, they should receive an application information pack via Royal Mail, which will be posted on 16 November 2018.

If you have not received an application pack by 23 November 2018 or if your child is in a private or independent school, please contact us by email or by telephone 0115 841 5568 to request an application information pack.
