Over the last 3 years, Heathfield has had a higher percentage of pupils eligible for free school meals than the National average. This in turn presents a number of barriers to learning which we ensure are being addressed through our use of pupil premium spending. When making decisions about using the Pupil Premium funding it is important to consider the characteristics of the school and the subsequent challenges faced.
Governors, using the PE and Sport Grant, supported the acquisition of a Sports Coach to support the delivery of quality PE and Sport alongside teachers in order to enhance their delivery of such sessions. The coach and PE Subject Leader monitor the impact of this expenditure and report to Leaders and Governors. Recent expenditure and impact can be found as linked documents on this tab.

The admission arrangements for the school are set out in this section. As of October 2015 Heathfield Primary and Nursery School will have expanded to our second campus. Admission criteria now include distance from both campuses when offering a place.

It is our aim that the progress of our pupils’ is at least good throughout their time at Heathfield to ensure that pupils leave our school matching National outcomes with many exceeding in both attainment and progress. The most recent school reports are available via links on the Attainment tab.
As a member of the P6P, we work with five local primary schools to share good practice, provide enrichment for the children and CPD for the staff. It is a valuable network for all stakeholders in school.
At Heathfield we embrace the fact that every child is different, and, therefore, the educational needs of every child are also different; this is certainly the case for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our policies and implementation of the these are at the forefront of our provision.
