Admission Arrangements

Admission for September 2024

As with all maintained schools the Local Authority at Nottingham City Council manages all admissions to Heathfield.  Heathfield is based over two campuses: Scotland Road and Kersall Drive, which are approximately 1 mile apart.

The school’s admission number is 100 places for Foundation 2 (Reception) pupils. Therefore, 40 places will be on offer at the Scotland Road Campus and 60 places at the Kersall Drive Campus.

You will apply to Heathfield Primary (Scotland Road) as this was the original school and is the address recognised by the DfE  ALL applications for Kersall Drive should be made to this Heathfield option.

Once Nottingham City Admission team have allocated a school place at Heathfield Primary, the Governing Body will determine which pupils will attend which site: either the Scotland Road Campus, or the Kersall Drive Campus.

Decisions will be based on:

  • Whether the pupil is a Looked After Child (LAC)
  • Whether the pupils has an Education Healthcare Plan (EHCP)
  • Whether the pupil will have a sibling in years 1-6 on the day they are due to start in Reception

And:

  • The distance from home (in a straight line as the crow flies) from home to each campus (all admissions)
  • Which site there is space available in the allocated year group (in-year admissions)

NB: Kersall Drive has the larger capacity of 60 places meaning there is a greater chance your child will be placed at that Campus.

Parents/Carers have a right to appeal the school’s decision regarding which campus the place is being offered. Each case is considered by the school’s own Admissions Appeals Panel on an individual basis. The decision of this panel is final and there is no further right of appeal.

You will be able to apply online for a school place via the Nottingham City Council website.

If you have not yet registered your child’s details with Nottingham City council you can still do so by clicking here.
