Key Stage 1

Below is a model timetable you might chose to follow with your child while home learning to add structure to your daily routine during this strange time. The timetable includes how lessons on teams will be delivered e.g. LIVE, VIDEO or a LINK to follow.

Guidance on MS Teams Pages

  1. The general channel is a place to ask us questions about work set, where things are etc.

Again you can find our timetable here. We understand some of you may not be able to follow it exactly due to having brothers and sisters using devices too but don’t worry videos are available at any time so if you wanted to do a lesson at a different time you could. Our lessons that say LIVE are events were you can see your teachers and each other and there will be two each day- Good Morning and Story Time. These events will be at the same time each day and can be found in your calendar which for most is at the bottom of your device with a small calendar icon and tab.

  • The chit chat channel is for you to chat to your friends. Remember to always follow the Heathfield Pledge and use kind words. Please do not chat with friends in other groups.
  • The News channel) is where you can find important announcements, dates, useful websites, logins and passwords.
  • During the live ‘Good Morning’ each day we will share your activities for the day but don’t forget our weekly timetable is here to remind you. To make it easier for you to find the videos and activities for each lesson we have created separate groups. These are:

Class Group- which I have just explained

Phonics Group- where you will find information and links to your daily phonics lessons.

English group- where you will find your English lessons and resources.

Maths Group- where you will find your Maths lessons and resources.

Science Group- where you will find your Science lessons and resources.

Topic Group- where you will find your Topic lessons and resources.

PE Group- where you will find information and links to our PE lessons.

Reading Group- where you will find quizzes after our live story each day.

  • All work that needs completed and handed in is due by 4:00pm that day so we can mark/feedback appropriately- as it would be at school. However we know some of you will be completing work at different times too. Don’t worry this can still be handed in, we just may not reply as quickly. Please bear with us!
  • Handing completed work in can be done on Teams by uploading completed worksheets, uploading photos of work etc or sending it to our class email. We understand this is an area some people have experienced problems with and we have included this on our Key Stage 1 help video we are creating, which you will receive a link to on Friday 8th January.
  • Contact will be made with families who we do not receive regular contact from.

We hope this helps guidance helps along with our Key Stage 1 welcome and help guide. If you do need anymore help or guidance please contact us below or via the class email.
